The European Academy of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology (EADMFR) is the leading organization dedicated to advancing the field of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology (DMFR) across Europe. Our History 

Founded in 1970, EADMFR began as a small collective of pioneering radiologists with a shared vision of elevating DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology across Europe. Since then, it has grown into a respected pan-European professional network representing the highest standards in clinical care, academic research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. 

Over the decades, EADMFR has:

EADMFR Timeline

  • 1970 – Foundation
    EADMFR is founded by a group of visionary radiologists aiming to unify and develop the field of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology in Europe.
  • 1982 – First Congress Held
    The first official EADMFR Congress is held, laying the foundation for the biennial tradition of knowledge exchange.
  • 1990s – Expansion of Membership
    Membership grows rapidly, with more countries across Europe joining the academy.
  • 2006 – Launch of EADMFR Educational Initiatives
    The Academy launches its first pan-European educational programs and training workshops.
  • 2014 – Integration with Digital Imaging Standards
    EADMFR plays a key role in establishing European guidelines on digital radiographic imaging in dentistry.
  • 2020 – 50-Year Anniversary
    EADMFR celebrates 50 years of service to the DMFR community with a retrospective and future-focused strategic plan.
